Quality Management System for a Small Business

If you are seeking a commercial cleaning contractor for your office cleaning, medical cleaning or body corporate cleaning your choice may be influenced by the consideration of whether the contractor has a quality management system (QMS) in place.
Since many commercial cleaning contractors are relatively small businesses they are unlikely to have a QMS that is certified to an international standard such as ISO 9001:2008. If they have certification you can be confident that they have good processes in place.
However, even if a small business considers a certified QMS to be a luxury, there are things you should expect when deciding upon your commercial cleaning contractor.
For example, does the contractor:
- have a method to control documents& records?
- have a method to ascertain the requirements of the customer?
- have adequate management of its purchases and its suppliers?
- provide training and work instructions to its staff?
- have a system for inspect work and fix poor outcomes?
- commit to continuous improvement?
